A Tour of the Place we call Home

Especially For my Mom and sisters, since they have been longing to see this place that I love so very much.  I love the tranquility and feeling of solitude. I feel as though a huge cloud has lifted off of me and I can now breathe with ease. 🙂

And now, for the tour of our house, that we call home…

IMG_3523

I have this inner urge to tackle the flower beds. I would tear out lots of things and most definitely rid the flower bed of the pinetree! But, since we won’t be here longer then April 15th, 2016, I will leave the flower beds to the young, energetic Amish lady, who will live here next!

IMG_3479

Entering my itty bitty kitchen from the garage door. The space inbetween the counters measures 3ft and 10 in. Between the fridge and stove, measures 3ft. My fridge quit, so I have to use the tiny little fidge in the garage, which also doesn’t work well. I’m supposed to be getting a new fridge this week. Yes, that is carpet you see on the floor. 🙂

IMG_3482

This angle from standing in the dining room.

IMG_3480

This sits on my counter, because, well, I don’t want to forget what these people look like. 😉

IMG_3489 IMG_3487 IMG_3486 IMG_3485

The dining room.  I love it because I can walk all the way around the table with ease. 🙂

IMG_3511

The living room. I was standing on the upstairs stairway, just in case you wanted to know that. 🙂

IMG_3519 IMG_3520

The front door is to the left. Upstairs stairway is directly across from the front door.

IMG_3506 IMG_3500

Master bedroom.  It feels huge to me.

IMG_3502 IMG_3504

We have a Pink Master bathroom, with a blue sheet serving as a curtain. Yes, that is carpet you see on the floor.

IMG_3509

The kids are all in the same bedroom. Keeping it organized has proven to be difficult. But hey, even if we had hooks to hang clothes on, it would look like this occasionally anyway.

IMG_3508

And we have a blue bathroom at the kids end of the hallway.  Mya has dubbed them the boy bathroom and girl bathroom. 🙂

IMG_3491

The family room. Sometimes we do messy around here. The kids have had so much fun with the packing peanuts that came with the school books. 🙂 This room is supposed to go through a transformation yet this week and be turned into a school room.

The brown half bath

For clarification, this is a split level house. Master bedroom, kids room and 2 bathrooms are on the top level. Kitchen, dining and living room on main level and family room, toy room, laundry, half bath on lower level. This house feels big to me. 🙂 And I love the cathedral ceilings on the main floor.

IMG_3526

Our back yard.

IMG_3530

Back of the house…

IMG_3527

And the pond. 🙂

IMG_3518

This is the view from my kitchen window. The neighbors horses are always by the pond in the morning. It’s lovely!

Hope you enjoyed the tour! 🙂 Must run…

These are a few of my Favorite Things

Life goes at break neck speed. Seriously, every week seems to fly into the next one. And each week brings emotions and feelings that threaten to overwhelm me at times. My heart squeezes with joy over each new thing that my 2 oldest kids learn. My baby’s laugh and the 3 yr old’s sparkling eyes; they melt me. Then there are evenings that I cry to my husband and stories of the day tumble out and I finish off with, “I hope God has enough grace to cover my mistakes.”  He wipes my tears away with his hand and whispers that yes, indeed, God has enough grace…  Ah, Grace.  God has been teaching me so much about you.

IMG_2799

Aubrey has been pouring over the first seed catalog that has arrived! She is really hoping that we can go to Grandma S’s house when the peas are ripe. “Because,” she says, “It’s just so much fun to help Aunt Rhoda pick peas!!”

IMG_2797

These boys. The oldest loves to build things. He has his own idea of order and organization. (it conflicts with his Mother’s, to be sure, but…) The youngest is the most efficient  demolition crew around. Many times, little Brother gets forcefully removed from the construction site and the door slammed in his face. But here they are smiling. They really do love each other. Kyler can’t wait until Coleson sleeps in his room. 🙂

IMG_2635

And this child?! Oh, the drama. She experiences life at very deep levels.

IMG_2649 IMG_2659 IMG_2697 IMG_2718

Snow. How they love it! 🙂

IMG_2679

Sometimes they are best friends. They play dress up. They make me laugh. 🙂

IMG_2730

Early morning lego party.

IMG_2701 IMG_2695

They love to wash dishes… Oh the mess.

IMG_2800 IMG_2795 IMG_2798

My birthday was special. Not everybody gets such an adorable, blonde, enthusiastic helper while bakings one’s own birthday cake. 😉 The middle picture are my birthday smowmen. 🙂 And the 3rd, is a napkin. They drew a picture on it and hung it from a ribbon, above our bed. Mya, with sparkling eyes and much dancing, explained, “It’s Jesus! He died on the cross! But he’s not dead! He’s in Heaven!”

IMG_2758

Penmanship is far from his favorite thing to do. why, must letters be formed properly?! Especially when one is SO cold!! A big, fuzzy robe, helped him feel more cozy. 🙂 The Bb’s were easier to make after that.

IMG_2814 IMG_2820

Monopoly is a favorite here. 🙂 This Daddy is one patient man.

IMG_2811

The Kindergartener, his pencil, and his book, disappeared from the kitchen table. I found him here.

IMG_2819 IMG_2807

This little man? He is so very in love with babies. And toilet paper. And silver wear. And the wipes. and kleenex.  If, you come to our house, and there is not one spoon in the drawer, it may be because Colsie took them all out and transferred them to a different drawer. (It could also be that they are all dirty.) Or, you might find him taking socks or underwear out of drawers, running through the house with them and stuffing them in another corner/cupboard/drawer. My hand mixer gets pulled through the house by the cord. He washes his hands in the toilet. He writes on walls. He is busy, busy, busy. He is rarely still and thinks sleep is not important. I love him.

IMG_2805

This made my heart hurt with happiness. (Is that possible?) It was so beautiful! God paints the most gorgeous pictures for us. He makes all things new. He is good. He loves imperfect me.

He has carried me, so very gently, through this past year. He has taught me so much about grace.  I am so very, very, very grateful to feel *some* energy again and not constant, utter exhaustion. God is so, so good.  (but that is another post, maybe.)

I hope your day is lovely. 🙂

The Craziest Summer Ever

Where has it gone? I want it back! For another month, at least!

IMG_1518 - Copy IMG_1510 - Copy

All summer, I raced with time, from one thing to the next. Each month, we had at least one big event/trip. With all the little/other things that happen in the Summer, it felt crazy. I struggled to breathe deep and embrace. Some days I thought I would drown. And now, it’s over. I’m trying hard to choose to remember only the fun we had, (and we had A LOT of fun and made wonderful memories!!)and forget about the extreme loss of sleep and meltdowns. 🙂 So, here’s a small re-cap…

The last wk in May, our new kitchen and laundry room floor went in. I love it!

June 1st, we moved everything out of all bedrooms and living room, into the kitchen/bathrooms/laundry/basement. we are now walking on soft carpet. I have a love/hate relationship with it. It looks really nice. Our front door is also in the living room. As hard as I try, all kinds of stuff and dirty feet regularly walk in my front door. I can not just wipe up a spot. Would I put carpet in my living room again? That depends on several things, but, probably not, unless it was far away from the main door.

we moved back in on Tuesday, on wednesday, Aunt Dorcas came and by Friday, we were all packed up and headed in 2 different directions.Wes to Quebec, on a fishing trip with his work crew, and Dorcas, the kids and I, to Missouri, to spend 12 days with Grandma and the rest of the Aunts. It was fun. 🙂 That week, we consumed lots of coffee and talked wedding and wedding, until the bride-to-be firmly stated that she wished to discuss something else. So, we talked wedding some more.  ;)  I also found myself knee deep in yards of gorgeous white lace fabric; Dorcas’ wedding dress. It was lovely. My baby was fussy, and cut his first 2 teeth that week as well. 🙂

IMG_1568 - Copy IMG_1578 - Copy IMG_1587 - Copy IMG_1599 - Copy IMG_1688 - Copy IMG_1689 - Copy IMG_1696 - Copy IMG_1697 - Copy IMG_1698 - Copy IMG_1709 - Copy  Needless to say, we were all thrilled to see our favorite man walk in the door at Grandma’s house.  🙂

We came home, and the rest of the month consisted of camping and VBS and just life in general.

And then it was July. Our anniversary went by, nearly un-noticed. We will celebrate, sometime. We went to Iowa to celebrate my Grandma’s 80th birthday. I took one picture. IMG_1979 - Copy Miss Aubrey loved Cherokee, Annika’s little pony.

Our church house is under going a major remodeling project and so this Summer, we’ve only had services every other Sunday. There are advantages and dis advantages to that. 🙂 One Sunday we went to The Wilderness Center.

Another Sunday, we went to the beach.

August came and I finished Dorcas’ dress and veil, Aubrey’s flower girl dress, a dress for Mya, and my bridesmaids dress. I struggled with mine. I may or may not have had to sew the 3rd dress, before it fit right. and it may have gotten finished less then 48 hrs before the wedding. I learned that God does care about bridesmaids dresses… I did 15 oz sweet corn and 2 bushels of green beans, with the help of my sweet in- laws and 2 1/4 bushels of peaches.

And then came the wedding. It was gorgeous! One of those weddings that made me want to just sigh happily when it was over. It was a celebration of the goodness and love of God.  we are so very happy for Dorcas and Jacob!!

IMG_2143   IMG_2144

Somehow, having pretty hair and gorgeous flowers, smiling people everywhere, beautiful music, well, it can give one almost a Princess-y feeling. However, as soon as the ceremony was over, I was greeted by a sobbing 3 yr old. I held my baby on my lap for the reception. He rubbed greasy and chocolate cake-y fingers all over me. I returned to reality. I am a Mother, after all. 🙂

We have started school. 🙂 The first day went well, the second day went well, the 3rd day I cried. By the end of the 1st week, it was very apparent that the reading/phonics program that had worked so well for Aubrey, was not working, at all, for Kyler. Their learning styles are about as different as day and night. That is a blessing of homeschooling. 🙂 If one thing doesn’t work, you are free to try something else.

IMG_2192 IMG_2194 IMG_2198 IMG_2217 IMG_2200

We spent a gorgeous Sunday evening on the trail. 🙂

IMG_2233 IMG_2232 IMG_2229 IMG_2226 IMG_2221 IMG_2220

Yep, my life is crazy, and never boring. 🙂

This morning the sun is shining and it is crisp and chilly. Maybe, just maybe, I am ready for Fall after all. Perhaps we will find the time to celebrate the birthdays and anniversary that practically went by unnoticed this summer. Perhaps Wes and I can sit on the couch with warm lattes (after the kids are in bed, of course) and finish the sentences that we started last Spring. Perhaps our house will sell and we will get to move in the cold of winter, with 4 kids. 🙂

Hope your day is blessed.

~Sara

Then it was Mother’s Day

It didn’t all go as planned. But, then, with our little crew, it rarely does. 🙂 The day started extra early for me, since I had gone to bed the night before with a ‘trashed’ house. (Don’t gasp.) We had been gone until quite late Saturday evening, and I simply did not have the energy to clean everything up.

Somehow, things began to go backwards and unravel, as we proceeded to race with the clock. One child woke up with a wet bed. Two children were playing on our bed, one while eating a cookie. One baby wanted to only be held. I got frustrated and talked louder then I should have. It was getting later. I asked Wes if we could please take a picture, since it is, after all, Mother’s Day.

IMG_1503

It turned out blurry with the littlest girl pouting, because she didn’t have her shoes on yet.

IMG_1505

I ended up having to comb the youngest daughter’s hair again, because she messed it all up. And then we raced everybody out the door.

They all decided to squiggle and wiggle in church, and I missed 99% of the sermon, due to a hungry baby. When church was finally over, and we were on our way to the park, for the church picnic, I felt grouchy and depressed. I told Wes that sometimes I just don’t think Mother’s Day is all that great or wonderful and proceeded to give him a woeful tale. After which, he decided it was time to speak some truth into my life.  :)  Ah, I love him!

The picnic turned out to be delightful. Mya was so fascinated with the balloons and kept saying, “Happy Birsday Mama!!” Little people, with grubby little hands, brought me handfuls of flowers.

Last night, we were with Wes’ family. The supper was super yummy. It’s always fun to be with them.  :)  The only down side to the evening, was the messy accident littlest daughter had, which required a serious bath to clean her up.

I was so tired, but when we went to climb into bed, we discovered the bed to be full of cookie crumbs. We brushed them out and climbed into bed. And suddenly, I had to smile. My life is never boring. My house is full of what my friend calls, “Trails of good intentions”. In other words, many things get started, but never get completely finished. I can still hear the Dr’s voice when, after the 2nd miscarriage, he informed me that I never would carry a baby full term, that I would only have miscarriages. I’m so thankful he was wrong.

IMG_1427 IMG_1425 IMG_1431 IMG_1450 IMG_1454 IMG_1463 IMG_1466 IMG_1471 IMG_1494 IMG_1498 IMG_0579

I am so incredibly blessed. 🙂

IMG_0587

Happy Mother’s Day to my Mom. Thank you for giving me life. I now understand how tired you must have felt, after being up with me multiple times during the night. 🙂   You have taught me so very much! Thank you for praying for us and passing on your wisdom!! You impact our lives in so many ways, even though you live far away. I love you!!

IMG_0319

Happy Mother’s Day to my 2nd Mom! Thank you for giving life to the man that I love. Thank you for praying for us and loving us. For the many times you’ve babysat, helped me can, sent food home, thank you! I couldn’t ask for a sweeter Mother in law! I love you!

My life is crazy sometimes, but it really is a beautiful crazy, when I choose to celebrate and embrace the gifts that I’ve been given.

Random Things

The window is open and the most pleasant breeze is coming in. It makes me feel happy, even though the sky is grey and ugly.

I was feeling stressed and exhausted. Yesterday I scrubbed this house good. Today I sat down at my sewing machine and let the house fall down around me. If you know me well, you would know that sewing is a stress reliever for me.  🙂 The girls each have a new dress to wear to church. Happiness.

IMG_1288  IMG_1285  IMG_1238

These children make me laugh and cry.

IMG_1327

Spring time! It is glorious!!

IMG_1350   IMG_1351

This funny little man is rather cranky right now. His teeth drive him nuts. Sometimes his teeth drive his mother nuts as well. But, this to shall pass.

IMG_1239 IMG_1240

Aubrey and Kyler wanted to pose in our ‘new’ bathroom. I love it!! Wes did the most wonderful job! I told him I could just sit and stare at our beautiful bathroom. weird. I know. It still needs a few finishing touches, but I love the new look!!

IMG_1357   IMG_1353

The lego master in our house.  And we only have 5 more days of school!! I’m excited!!!

IMG_1361

My newly painted living room. I stopped in at Sherwin Williams to check for mistinted paint and was thrilled to find 4 gallons of this grey! I had an appointment and so i was some what in a hurry, and in a moment of forgetfulness, I never once thought of checking what kind of finish the paint was. That evening,  while washing dishes, I thought about it and ran to the basement to check. And lo, it was flat paint and because it was a mistint, it is non-returnable. I was depressed for a minute, but decided that since we aren’t planning to live here many more years, it would be ok. I didn’t want to spend money for other paint when I had such cheap paint sitting in my basement.  Wes said it was up to me and he was fine with whatever I decided to do. I began to regret my decision almost immediately. And next week, the living room will get repainted. There are hand prints and scuffs on the walls, already, and I can’t wash ANYTHING.  So, anyway, if you are interested in interior, flat, grey paint, I have 2 gallons that you may have for the same price I paid for it.  Next time, I shall be more careful… I hope. I have decided that I’m not the most frugal person around. Most times when I think I have an amazing deal, it ends up going South. Kinda like the $4 clock that I bought. Upon opening the package, it promptly fell apart and broke.

IMG_1367 IMG_1369 IMG_1368

And the master bathroom is getting torn apart. Bye-bye, ugly, leaking tub. The girls hid in the cupboard and watched their Daddy tear it apart.

IMG_1370 IMG_1371

Isn’t this the absolute, most cutest, little applesauce mouth that you have ever seen?!

Pink eye has come to our house. Pour Mya has the most itchy, cheesy, pink eyes. Aubrey is just starting. Breast milk to the rescue! 🙂 It really DOES work!!

Sometimes one must stop and re-prioritize their priorities. Wes and I did that last night. It feels free-ing. There have been so many projects going on around here this winter. The kiddos are beginning to feel neglected.

Our new flooring is coming in 2 wks!! That looks like a lot of work to move all the appliances and furniture, but, oh! After living with painted floors for 4 yrs, I am so excited!!!!

Today I am so thankful for a Heavenly Father that cares about the tiniest details of my life!! He even hears a desperate Mother’s plea to please help her find the lost nippy. There it was. Right where I had looked several times. The screaming baby finally went to sleep.

Pork chops, spaghetti squash, and green beans for supper…

I am so glad it’s Friday!!!!!!!!

That’s all.

Must run! 🙂

And then it was March…

I seem to be on a ‘once a month post’ schedule here. Not that my head doesn’t write many posts, but computer time seems to be somewhat limited.   🙂

IMG_1170

We got a box of books and stickers and papers in the mail from Grandma Schrock. The Aubrey and Kyler immediately tore it open. Poor Mya was taking a nap and didn’t get in on the fun. And Coleson and little pieces of paper… Well, he has begun to sweep my floor. Putting paper in his mouth has become a favorite of his. And my other children are all into paper crafts and coloring right now.  So I stay busy trying to keep paper away from him.

IMG_1178 IMG_1177

We’ve had some beautiful days! The first thing Kyler asked for was chalk. And His trains have been happily running on their tracks. 🙂

IMG_1190 IMG_1195

Aubrey combed her own hair and played ‘dress up’. She can also read ‘the funnys’… And everything else. She has turned into a book worm. 🙂

IMG_1198 IMG_1200

My 2 helpers mixing up Gluten free Honey Oatmeal bread. It is absolutely delicious and tastes like regular bread. Seriously! Please excuse the ratty hair and pants with the big hole in the knee. No, I do not patch pants. Yes, I suppose I should. I do not have time.

IMG_1180

Aren’t they cute? 🙂

IMG_1181 IMG_1186

This little cutie isn’t staying little. He loves riding on Daddy’s shoulders and chasing the other kiddos through the house. He giggles and giggles. It’s so very cute.

IMG_1206

IMG_1208

Coleson grips the mug TIGHTLY, while trying out Daddy’s healthy chocolate milk shake. Yes, there is such a thing. 🙂 They have become popular bed time snacks at our house.

IMG_1169

And this selfie, that Kyler took of himself, makes me smile. 🙂

************

And so it’s been about 5 days since I started this. Maybe I can finish this time. 🙂

IMG_1210

A pile of silly kiddos.

IMG_1217  IMG_1220 IMG_1223

We made doughnuts one afternoon. I used a gluten free cinnamon roll recipe and added some cinnamon to the dough. then we just cut them out like doughnuts, baked them, and had lots of fun frosting.  :)  The little ppl in this house thought they were amazing! This Mama chose to eat a Banana Cream Cake with yogurt instead.  It was delightful!! You can find it here: http://www.gwens-nest.com/family-favorite-recipes/banana-cream-cake-recipe/

IMG_1232

This makes me laugh. Oh, warm weather, please come quickly!!!!! We are so ready!!

Last Friday, I accidentally did a freezer cooking day. Normally I plan for a freezer cooking day for a whole week ahead of time and do my shopping, make out detailed lists, etc. Not this time. I got the urge around 12:30pm. My baby was taking an unusually long nap and I was thinking about the next 6 weeks or so ahead of me. I began to feel somewhat anxious and stressed and found myself looking at the calender, the clock, and thinking of the beef, pork, and several bags of chicken in my freezer. I figured if we have baked oatmeal with yogurt and peaches (that is a family favorite and it’s Super easy and cheap!!) one night a week, I use my crockpot 1 night a week,(pork chops, steak, or chicken) we eat quiche every Sunday for lunch, (another cheap meal)and have pizza every Saturday night, I needed about 18 meals to get me thro’ the next 6 weeks. Anyway, I worked backwards and decided what to make as I went along. we now have hamburgers, taco soup, broccoli cheese sausage soup, (minus the cheese. I will add that when we eat it.) beef stroganoff, taco meat for taco pie, and fried sausage for the quiches. I also had 2 hamburger/onion/mushroom mixtures for stuffed peppers, 1 meatloaf, and 1 pack of meatballs already in the freezer. I bought 2 whole chickens on Saturday, then, so rotisserie chicken got added to the menu. Now I feel like I can breathe. With some veggies, we can have supper in no time.  we have 4 more weeks of school and I have 6 gallons of paint sitting in the basement, patiently waiting to be applied to some of my walls.  Ahh… I love my freezer!! Unless you didn’t notice, meals are very simple at our house!

The sick bug has arrived at our house. I’m doing my best to send him on his way. Mya and Coleson have it, but Coleson is the worst. Runny nose, fever, watery eyes, etc. Poor little baby was so sad last night.  I made up garlic salve and I’m applying it regularly. And I’m once again so impressed with peppermint and lavender essential oils! Use them to ‘open up’ stuffy noses and bring down fevers naturally!! I love it!!

Well,My baby is sleeping and my laundry needs to be changed. And I need some coffee…

Blessings!

It’s February. Part of me wants to say, “Already?! Where has the winter gone?!” And another part of me wants to yell, “YAY!! We are getting closer to Spring!!” The little people and I are all ready for some warmth, flip flops, and park days! Oh yes! I love snow. And there’s something so cozy about winter. But this year. Oh, I am SO ready for Spring!!

IMG_0908 IMG_0916 IMG_0918 IMG_0923 IMG_1039 The bathroom project that’s been going on. Wes tore it out one day when the weather was to bad to work. It has turned out to be a bigger project then he first thought. But it will be so nice once it’s done!

IMG_0993 IMG_0997 IMG_0999 The day before Valentines was supposed to be a good day. I planned fun projects for the kids to do and since Aubrey only had several tests to do that day, I thought it would work out quite well. I was excited for Thursday and I thought I had planned well…. First we made ‘button hearts’.

IMG_1000 IMG_1001And then I let them finger paint. Somewhere along the line, things began to unravel and my happy day was not proceeding as planned. Kyler declared it the worst day EVER and at one point, I was tempted to agree with him.

IMG_1020Our simple decorations. And no, that isn’t my handwriting on the chalkboard. It’s a printable that I found on pinterest.   I was going to put a nice white table cloth on the table, but in my frenzy, I couldn’t find it. So. There was no table cloth. That made me feel sad, because an oak table against a gray wall doesn’t exactly look festive.

IMG_1016 IMG_1018 we had our Valentines Supper that evening. We had hotdogs, chip dip, deviled eggs, ceaser salad, pepper poppers, and Strawberry parfaits for desert. The parfaits looked so pretty in my mind, but in reality, they looked a little sad. The children thought it was great fun to eat with pretty dishes and drink sparkling grape juice out of goblets. So, in the end, perhaps it wasn’t the worst day ever.

IMG_1069 IMG_1047 IMG_1045 IMG_1044 Miss Mya is now three. 🙂 Aubrey was rather frustrated with her yesterday and said, “Mom! Mya still talks like she did when she was 2! She’s three now!!” After playing outside, the poor birthday girl fell asleep on the recliner. This Mama didn’t plan ahead very well, and forgot to buy wrapping paper. So we wrapped her present up in some brown, crinkled up paper, that we tried to flatten and smooth out as we went. Oh, and I might add, that there was also no scotch tape in the house. I thought her present looked sad. Aubrey and Kyler tried to dress it up with pictures and hearts. She awoke from her nap in a very bad mood and cried clear through her birthday supper.

IMG_1050 IMG_1049 IMG_1052 IMG_1062 IMG_1063 The smiles returned, however, when she got her present. She even sang “Happy Birthday’ to herself 3 times. 🙂

IMG_1070 IMG_1071 IMG_1076 The cake and homemade ice cream was healthy… so we ate it for breakfast the next morning as well. 🙂 The children thought they needed candles at breakfast, too, so everybody got candles and we sang ‘Happy Birthday’ 3 more times.

IMG_0926 IMG_0968 IMG_1080 IMG_0879 IMG_0875 IMG_1040Lots of real life goes on around here. Aubrey has totally taken off with reading. She reads books and signs in stores. She writes Wes and I  little notes and hides them for us to find. 🙂 Math is a total different story. Even simple addition is hard for her. But, we’ll keep working at it and reviewing what she knows. Next year we will try Math-u-see and hopefully that will go better.

Life in general is just so much better, since I quit drinking coffee. Sigh. I miss it so bad!! But, a happy baby is worth it! I used to make myself coffee every morning. I loved my little coffee/quiet time every morning. My poor baby, however, screamed and screamed and suffered from severe stomach aches. I would feed him and think he’s sleeping, lay him down and run to get something done. Only to have him wake up 5 to 10 minutes later screaming. School time was a disaster. Aubrey needed help and Coleson screamed. The other two children literally ‘fell through the cracks’ and ended up watching far to many movies.  The house was always messy and dirty and one night I told Wes that I feel like I’m losing my mind. Usually, around 3:30 or 4 in the afternoon, he seemed ok, actually took a decent nap, and smiled at his Daddy in the evening. I began to pray fervently. The tears-running-down-your-cheeks sorts of prayers. I knew there had to be a way to survive and thrive in this stage of my life. But, I had no clue how. It was just all very overwhelming. But, God is faithful. I shouldn’t be, but I am amazed how when I became so desperate and had no clue how to keep on, He brought ideas to my mind. I quit coffee and most chocolate and Coleson’s screaming stopped. He now takes a nice nap most mornings and we are able to do school much easier. We made chore charts for Aubrey and Kyler and Mom has a work schedule as well. And food in the freezer. That is a life saver!!! I now feel like I can function properly. The house is less chaotic, and that alone makes me feel happy. 🙂
